THE BISHOP
MCDEVITT HIGH SCHOOL MARVELOUS MARCHERS held a REUNION on
May 2nd to celebrate McDevitt's 50TH ANNIVERSARY.
Over 200
former members of the Marching Unit came from various parts
of the country to attend.

Dennis
Ducsik ’64
from Massachusetts who was the Unit’s first Drum Major,
Laura Lee Sherretta Justin ’65
of New Jersey from the original Drill Team which was started
in 1962, and
John Dunphy
who was the Director of the Marching Unit from 1968 through
1980. The event was held in the school auditorium.

Marching Band let by drum major Ray D'Alonzo '70
McDevitt Drum
Major Ray D'Alonzo'70 in competition to defend his title as
"superior drum major" in the Archdiocesan Catholic League.
Ray won the title 13 out of 14 competitions, losing only
once to Archbishop Wood in his Junior year. Ray presented a
striking presence with his stunning uniform and 6'6"
stature. His uniform was altered at least once during his 3
year tenure as drum major.
