The Bishop McDevitt wrestling team is the definition of grit and integrity. From waking up early to losing weight for the next day, the team members push each other to reach their full potential. They are there for each other, in time of need, to hold each other up. The members are more than a team; they’re family. With their commitment and family-centered mentality, they were able to have the best wrestling season yet.
This year the team wrestled as hard as they could and won many matches. This year, the team was able to accomplish defeating Academy at Palumbo. Their victory resulted in the title District XII PIAA Champions.
Junior athlete, Artemio Rodriguez, remarks, “Each of us fought our very best just to get where we are now, and because of that Bishop McDevitt Wrestling is qualified for States at Hershey. This is the farthest the team has made it in Bishop McDevitt History […] we thank Coach Whelan for believing in each and every one of us to become the best men we can be.”
