Father
Santorsola, our school minister, celebrated the Liturgy
of the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time welcoming our new
students and their families to the school.
Alumni
and other guests of the school were also present to
welcome the students and to participate in the
dedication of the lab following the liturgy.
Dr. Salvatore DiNenna,
our school President added tremendously to the solemnity
of the occasion with closing remarks of appreciation and
thanksgiving for the opportunity to be involved in the
education of the youth of the Archdiocese of
Philadelphia. Dr. DiNenna also invited the
congregation to join in the dedication services.
Following the liturgy, the celebrant, ministers and
congregation moved to the third floor of the school
where the renovated chemistry lab is located.
After a few remarks, Dr. DiNenna received the key to the
room from
Peter Roman, Class of 1983,
[above/left-center] - Site Supervisor and co-owner of
Enrico Roman, Inc. of Oreland, Pa., who performed the
renovations. This
was a symbolic gesture of the completion of the hard
work of renovation and the handing over of the finished
project to our President. Before we entered the
lab, Mr. Roman gave to our school, in the name of his
building firm, a most generous donation of $1000 to be
used towards the purchase of another life-saving
Automatic External Defibrillator for the
school.
After
this brief ceremony, all entered the room. Father said
the prayer of blessing and dedication. The patronage of
Saints Cosmas and Damian who were saints directly
related to the human and medical sciences was also
invoked. Our Principal,
Mr. Harry Neenhold,
ended the celebration with closing remarks to the
gathering.
Following the dedication, all were invited by Dr.
DiNenna for refreshments.
