My name is
Jason Bowers. I graduated from North Penn High School in
2003 and I am currently a senior at Gwynedd Mercy College
where I am a double major in history and mathematics with
secondary teacher certification. My goal for the future is
to become a middle school or high school teacher. I am here
at Bishop McDevitt for the fall semester shadowing Mr.
Minieri as a pre-student teacher. As a pre-student teacher I
am at Bishop McDevitt one day a week so I can observe high
school teachers in action and learn what it takes to become
a great teacher. I will also be giving a few lessons of my
own. My favorite past times include baseball and golf
(I play on the Gwynedd Mercy Golf Team). I also enjoy
watching all sports, especially football. Go EAGLES! I
appreciate the opportunity that Bishop McDevitt and Mr.
Minieri have given me and I wish everyone here at McDevitt
the best.

My name is
John
Butler.
I graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in 2002. Cedar
Cliff is located just outside of Harrisburg Pa, in a small
town called Camp Hill. I now attend LaSalle University where
I am on a full scholarship to run Cross Country and Track
and Field. I'm (obviously) studying to become a high school
teacher, and my focus is in History/Social Studies. I have
two sisters, one older and one younger. My oldest sister
Kristen works for ESPN, more specifically for the NFL in
their programming department. My younger sister Meghan
attends California University of Pennsylvania where she is
in her sophomore year. I've always been very passionate
about becoming a teacher, I've really never considered a
different profession. Being able to explain things to others
and see the excitement when they finally achieve their goals
has always been something that has inspired me.

My name is
Nicholas Bubel, and I graduated from Bishop McDevitt High
School in 2001. I received my BA in Political Science, from
Arcadia University, in 2005. Currently, I am enrolled in
the Graduate School at Arcadia University, where I am
pursuing both my Master of Arts in Education degree, as well
as my certification for secondary education social studies.
I am presently employed as a Graduate Assistant for a
professor in the Education Department.
I am privileged and honored to say that I am
now back at Bishop McDevitt, observing and assisting the
Social Studies Department. Everyone welcomed me back with
open arms, and it is a true joy to be giving something back
to those who put me on the path to college success. It is a
pleasure to observe teachers like Mrs. Rieffel, Mr. Minieri,
Mr. Achuff, and Mr. Manzi. The teachers could not be more
helpful to me then they are now. It is immeasurably
rewarding for me to be giving back to the school and people
who helped me get to where I am today. I have no doubt that
my time here will contain many cherished memories, the ones
that last a lifetime. So far, since coming back, I have had
several, and I am sure they will only continue in the
future.
