Bishop McDevitt High
School, with the cooperation of several stores, is offering an opportunity
for all parents to reduce their tuition expenses by participating in the
Store Gift Certificate Program (SCRIP)
SCRIP is a term used for
a different kind of fundraiser. Non-profit groups, such as Bishop
McDevitt, purchase gift certificates at a discount rate and then resell
them at face value. The thing that makes it different is that you do not
need to spend extra money in order to help raise funds. You purchase gift
certificates through Bishop McDevitt and use them just like cash. SCRIP
can be purchased in denominations of $5, $10, $25, etc. This program has
proven very successful in parishes and high schools throughout the area.
As participants purchase
SCRIP, the discount amount from each transaction is recorded. For every
$100 purchase of SCRIP, a student will receive $3.00 in tuition credit and
the school will receive $2.00 towards the Bishop McDevitt Tuition
Assistance Program. Anyone can purchase SCRIP and designate any student as
the recipient of the tuition credit. The child’s student number will be
their account number.
Bishop McDevitt High
School would like to begin this program in early October. Parents will be
able to walk in and purchase SCRIP during certain hours of the school day.
Students may bring in SCRIP orders from home and drop them off in the
Business Office during homeroom. Orders will be filled and returned to the
student before the end of the school day. *
SCRIP will be available
from the following Supermarkets:
If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Hayes at 215-887-5575
*Orders will be processed based on availability of SCRIP Certificates
