McDevitt Community Day

Thursday, September 7th was the 1st Annual McDevitt Community Day! There were 22 projects located at 17 different sites. Our students served cancer patients, first-responders, service members and their families, along with a wealth of needs throughout our community. They supported art centers, community parks, elder care facilities, and food pantries. Services provided included cleaning, painting, baking, sewing, organizing, leading bingo games, reading with young students, packing snack bags and travel packs.

A special word of thanks to all of the upperclassmen who made the McDevitt Community Day such a huge success!  They were all absolutely amazing. We have since received dozens of messages from the community expressing how impressed they are with our student’s willingness to serve.  They showed our community last week how special McDevitt is.  We cannot be any more proud of them.
By the numbers: 300+ McDevitt students executed 22 projects at 17 different sites = over 1,200 service hours in one day!
