Welcome to the Parents’ Page of the Bishop McDevitt High School Website

Per our by-laws, “The objective of the Association is with the principal’s approval to promote cooperation and understanding between the faculty and the parents with the view of realizing the greatest success for Bishop McDevitt students.”  We work to promote a strong family community for the parents, students, and school faculty/administration.

Membership is open to any parents or guardians of Bishop McDevitt High school students, past or present.  A registration form is available below that provides information about dues.

We appreciate your choosing a Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Your selection of Bishop McDevitt High School provides your student with a quality education with Catholic ideals in a real world community.

Clearance Requirements

We were notified last year there were two changes that will impact us. Volunteers now have to redo their clearances every three years (instead of five) and the exception for “casual volunteers” no longer exists so that any person who volunteers and is engaged with students even once needs their clearances.  For more information about the policy, please visit www.childyouthprotection.org.

We ask that anyone volunteering this year, complete the clearances and return them to Miss Linda in the Principals Office.  You can save the documents and email them or print a hard copy to return to school.

Below is the information and the links.  It only takes a few minutes.  Just a reminder, if you already completed these in the past 3 years whether for McDevitt or another organization such as your church, work, or school, you do not have to do them, again.   Send what you have.

The Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance are now free for volunteers!  For the Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check there is now a yellow button on the main page that says “New Record Check” with the words “volunteers only” in red to the right, clicking there allows for volunteers to run their check free of charge. Please note that if you have staff that both work and volunteer they have to obtain the paid employment clearance. The fee waiver is for volunteering only. For the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, when completing online via the Compass site, as long as the individual has identified him/herself as a volunteer when they begin the application, the fee will be waived. For the Federal Fingerprint Check the fee remains unchanged.
